Paper and cardboard are the backbone of the recycling industry in South Africa. The paper fibre from this recycled material is converted into so many different products, from packaging to industrial paper towel, cartons for cereal boxes, boxes for toothpaste, to egg boxes, fruit trays and even toilet paper.

Tetra Pak cartons, the ones that hold milk, juice and wine, are now also recycled.  The lining that makes the carton watertight is recycled into crates, roof tiles and furniture.

Flatten - all boxes and Tetra Pak must be flattened. This makes the labour intensive job that we have much smoother.

Re-cap - all caps, which are 100% recyclable, must go back on Tetra Pak after is has been rinsed, to avoid becoming additional litter. They are removed during the recycling process and turned into new products.

K4/Cardboard Boxes – Any cardboard boxes free from soil, oil & wax etc.

HL1/White Paper – White office paper.
